In the last week of October, there is full harvest on Etna where red and bright fruits are harvested this year. Above, the Franchetti wine grapes leap forward every morning, at regular degrees; I taste them and then go back to the cellar to follow the beautiful traffic of wagons and pick-ups from the different districts.
So in 2016 we were able to measure the exact maturity of this wine. In the Franchetti there was a fresh and concentrated Petit Verdot and a very red wine from Cesanese d’Affile. The wine is more youthful and long-lived than in previous years.

Franchetti is the flagship wine of the Passopisciaro estate, a super-Etna produced from Petit Verdot and Cesanese d'Affile grapes planted on rock and volcanic ash in Contrada Guardiola.

Franchetti is a wine produced by the producer that expresses and represents the idea of wine and the personal vision of a man. The result is a wine unique in the world, of great concentration, black as the lava and volcanic smoke that flow from Etna.
