My vineyards are located on the slopes of Etna, between 600 and 1200 meters above sea level on the north and north-west sides. A mysterious and special place, a unique ecosystem in the world characterized by an extraordinary climatic variability and a landscape full of contrasts and life.
Etna is a land of ancient vines, such as Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Alicante and Francisi for the reds, Carricante, Minnella, Grecanico for whites.
All my vineyards follow the traditional model of sapling viticulture, typical of the Etna area. Here the plants are not arranged in rows: each is a single individual, positioned at an equal distance from the others on all sides and supported by a chestnut pole.
More space for the roots, better radiation, greater ventilation and a geometry that makes processing and harvesting easier, still carried out mainly by hand. Because a well cared for and healthy vine bears good fruit.
